Our values

and ethos

EMPOWERING THE TRAILBLAZERS OF TOMORROW

Underpinned by the philosophy of ‘Fun, Creativity and Achievement’ in all we do, our aim to empower our children to become the trailblazers of tomorrow in order to build a better future

Everyone at Preston Hedges Primary School is committed to ensuring that each and every child is provided with an exceptional primary school experience.

Our children build excellent academic skills, they develop a strong social and moral conscience, and engage with innovative ideas in and out of the classroom. We do this through providing an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum and creative learning experiences that enable our children to become confident articulate individuals who are ready to make a positive contribution to society.

Alongside our well embedded school values identified below, we have a strong character development curriculum that supports our children to build the personal skills that will serve them well in the future.

Our core

values

Our ethos is based around our six school values:

  • Co-operation
  • Aspiration
  • Self Discipline
  • Respect
  • Resilience
  • Caring

These are integral to the school identity, and interwoven into all elements of school life. These core values are upheld, celebrated and promoted by everyone in the school community.

Our children receive recognition for showing their values. Please see our Rewards page for how this works in our school.

The contributions of all our pupils and stakeholders are valued; we believe in equality and inclusion. We believe in working together with families to secure the very best outcomes for all pupils.

As part of the local community, we embrace all those individuals and organisations who are supportive of and interested in our school. We strive to build strong and tangible partnerships with the local community, to ensure every child respects and is tolerant of society’s many different faiths and beliefs. We are committed to creating relevant experiences and understanding so pupils can make a positive contribution to life in Britain.

The curriculum of Preston Hedges Primary School recognises that each child is unique with individual needs.

It will be adapted by highly skilled professionals to meet the needs of all learners so that every child reaches their full potential. We are committed to providing the very best teaching and learning experiences, which inspire and challenge pupils to demonstrate exceptional outcomes.

By celebrating individual achievements and fostering a positive attitude in a wide range of areas, we endeavour to motivate and build self-belief in all our children. Through rich and varied opportunities in Dance, Sport, Drama and Music, all our pupils will have the chance to grow their confidence and develop their aspirations for the future.

The staff and Trust are committed to providing a safe, stimulating and positive learning environment, in which all pupils can develop as individuals. We have the highest regard for safeguarding procedures, and actively seek ways to improve the provision at our school, so that it consistently demonstrates the very best practice.
