Year 5 – Celebration Day ‘World at War’

Year 5 will have a celebration day, based on our history topic, World at War – World War1.

During the day, children will explore what life was like for soldiers in the war, including trench warfare, as well as beginning to look at the impact of war from a range of perspectives.
All of which will develop their historical understanding, but also give a context for their English work (where they will be writing a letter from the trenches).

As always, it would be lovely if your child came to school dressed up for the day if possible. They could wear clothing symbolic of what was worn by men or women
in the war / time period or clothing where the colours are inspired by something from the war (e.g. khaki green).
