DESCRIPTION:As part of our learning about The World Around Us (which is our geography topic for this term)\, we would like to take the children to Irchester Country Park.\nThey will have the opportunity to find different mini beasts in their habitats and become explorers using maps and compasses to find Red Mountain.\nIt will provide a valuable opportunity to bring the topic and their learning to life. \nChildren will be off school site for lunch\, therefore please send your child to school with a packed lunch in a disposable bag\, clearly labelled with your child’s name.\nAny lunch bookings placed with Caterlink will be cancelled for this day.

DESCRIPTION:As this term draws to a close\, the children have continued to impress us with their hard work\, and as a result\, the children have filled a jar in both 4R and 4C.\nBoth classes have filled their self-discipline jars\, and we are so proud of them! \nTo reward the children for their efforts\, the children will be watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (which is a PG).\nThis film is linked to the children’s Year 4 English topic this term and the children have been using this as a stimulus for descriptive writing and writing a biography for Albus Dumbledore.\nThe children have thoroughly enjoyed this as their class read too. \nThe children will be able to bring in a snack with them to watch the film\, this can be sweets\, popcorn or chocolate\, if you would like.\nHowever\, as always please make sure there are no nuts in these snacks as they will not be able to eat them in school.\nThe snacks should be for your child only and are not to be shared with other children in the class. \nThe film will be in the afternoon of Thursday 23rd October\, therefore\, if you do not want your child to watch the film\, please email the office by 9am on Thursday 23rd October.

DESCRIPTION:This term in Year 4 Geography\, our topic is Metropolis. We have been using atlases and Digi maps to find capital cities from across the world.\nThe children have enjoyed exploring London\, Bern and Washington DC using tour videos\, creating postcards and information packs. \nWe will be having a celebration Day on Friday 24th October\, where we will be creating our own cities and becoming tour guides for a chosen capital city\, taking part in activities and tours\, using the knowledge we have gained over the previous 6 weeks. \nIt would be great if your child could dress up as explorers\, wearing neutral/ green coloured clothes.
